Henry the Donkey A Story of
Resilience and Joy

Henry's Story

When Henry was a foal just under a year old, he was found alone in a field tangled in a wired fence.  He was rescued and brought to a University Hospital where Veterinarians performed surgery to save Henry's life. Unfortunately, from the trauma of the wired fence, he had to have his front leg amputated below his Cannon Bone.  We would call this our wrist.

Henry's new owner adopted him and brought him to his ranch in Tennessee.  The ranch was shared with over 30 other donkeys most of which were raised to compete as "Show Donkeys".  Needless to say, Henry was treated like royalty.

MORE OF HENRY'S STORY

Many different designs of prosthetics were made for Henry as he grew.  And, each one helped Henry grow stronger and faster.

Unfortunately, Henry passed away in 2023 from a rare illness. He brought a lot of joy to all the people around him.  He will be greatly missed.
